Volunteer Opportunities for Youth
Amazing benefits come to the young people in our community who give their time and talent to help those less fortunate.
By volunteering at our agency, your eyes are opened to the way others live, and you learn how to share your gifts with people who may be less fortunate than you. We offer many different fun and rewarding volunteer activities for youth. At Crisis Assistance Ministry, your help really does make a difference.
Some Ways You Can Help
Giving time Come to the agency with your family, school, scout troop or neighborhood friends. Sign up to sort, inspect and hang clothing, or restock the store. In our Free Store, just an hour's worth of processing provides one person with enough clothes for a year.
Donate clothing Clean out your closet and donate your clothes. The agency has a Free Store where families in need can shop for free. Coats, blankets and clothing for youth are always needed. Please note we prefer in-season clothing, given our limited storage space.
Book drives Ask your friends to bring in their gently-used books; Crisis Assistance Ministry will give them to other youth who are anxious to have books at home.
Raising money Hold a bake sale and donate the money to the agency. Or, if you receive an allowance, consider giving part of it to Crisis Assistance Ministry.
School/community projects Do you have volunteer requirements for school or other community commitments? We would love your help. We accept volunteers ages 16 and above without adult supervision. If you are younger, bring several of your friends and a parent, and we'll find lots of fun activities for you. (Under special circumstances, we will accept volunteers under the age of 16 without adult supervision with prior approval.)
