As a mom to two young daughters, Olivia is learning just how hard it can be to provide for a family even with a full-time job. She has plans to go back to school, buy a house, and own a restaurant one day, but for now, she is working on staying stably housed.
Thanks to you, home is a safe place again for Olivia and her family after facing the threat of eviction.
Despite working 10-hour shifts, her tight budget meant that an unexpected expense led to her getting behind on rent and she came to Crisis Assistance Ministry. Your generosity helped provide emergency financial assistance and enabled Olivia and her daughters to shop free of charge for clothing and household essentials. Her daughters are very protective of the books, clothes, and bedding they picked out and take great care of them. It wasn’t easy for Olivia to ask for help but she didn’t have any other options.
Put your pride to the side and don’t be ashamed to ask for help.
Your support also provided the opportunity for Olivia to enroll in the Economic Mobility Program at Crisis Assistance Ministry. For eight weeks, Olivia and Lori, her caseworker, worked on budgeting, saving, and learning how to cook. Olivia is excited about putting what she has learned into action and providing a safe, stable home for her family.
You can help other families by making a gift and providing hope for people like Olivia this holiday season.
