“Women can become independent…believe in yourself.” – Donna
Donna wasn’t always so self-assured with the confidence to move forward and inspire other women to realize their potential. Just a few years ago, she found herself without a job and with a new baby, Aynsley, as her relationship fell apart. Left alone to support her family, Donna struggled to figure out how to make ends meet.
She finally found a new job and was able to begin picking herself up emotionally and financially. But when she made too much money to continue receiving daycare assistance, Donna was forced to make a difficult choice. Either pay the rent or pay for daycare – a decision no parent ever wants to make.
After exhausting all of her possible resources, she and her young daughter found themselves at Crisis Assistance Ministry. Your generous support provided rent assistance directly to her landlord to get the family back on track.
Then, Aynsley’s eyes lit up at the sight of a handmade fleece blanket from the Free Store. She was so excited to have something so soft and snuggly for the cold winter nights. Thanks to you, Donna and Aynsley are now smiling and warm.
Donna is so grateful for the support she received and would thank you in person if given the chance.
“It means that somebody still cares about a person trying to do the right thing,” she says.
With a gift today, you will help hardworking families like Donna’s stay stably housed with their basic needs met.
