Tanisha Invites You to Move Forward Together

Tanisha came to America as a hopeful child. After a difficult struggle, she now feels able to fully realize those childhood dreams thanks to generous individuals like you.

MAKE A GIFT

Tanisha is familiar with a struggle that a lot of people can relate to, especially now during COVID-19. No matter how carefully she budgeted, sometimes it just wasn’t enough to pay all of her bills. When she came to Crisis Assistance Ministry, she was worried about losing the apartment that she had worked so hard to maintain.

Thanks to donors like you, a rent payment made directly to Tanisha’s landlord enabled her to get back on track with her bills. Through one on one coaching and counseling, she put together a plan to create a more sustainable future.

“They taught me how to save and that is why I’m able to deal with the pandemic,” says Tanisha.

Right now, hardworking Charlotteans like Tanisha are facing unprecedented financial crisis and your donation will help neighbors prevent homelessness, rebuild their lives, and get on a path to greater financial security. By making a gift today, you can help families avoid eviction and stay in their homes with power and water.

“We ALL find ourselves falling short. We all find ourselves in need. . . And Crisis Assistance Ministry’s doors are open for you.”
Jeanette’s Crisis Assistance Ministry story began with a visit for emergency financial assistance that led to so much more.
A recent graduate of three months of one-on-one coaching with a Financial Empowerment Specialist, Jeanette shared her wisdom for all of us who might need a little help, hope, and understanding.
For 50 years, neighbors like Jeanette have found what they needed at Crisis Assistance Ministry to achieve financial stability.
Hers is just one of #50StoriesofCrisisAssistance Ministry we’re sharing in recognition of #50yearsofhopeCLT.

@avidxchange team, a valued partner, made a real impact last week as they kindly distributed snack bags prepared by @phillipsacademy students and then pitched in inspecting and preparing donated items for the Free Store. With the help of #volunteers like these, an average of 125 households find help here every day. That's how it's been done here for 50 years now—community members coming together to help each other out. Thanks AvidXchange for being part of the story!

This Mental Health Awareness Month, Crisis Assistance Ministry is focusing on a critical truth: the profound link between poverty and mental well-being. Our daily work shows us how the cycle of financial hardship and mental health challenges can be deeply intertwined for our neighbors.

When families face constant stress over rent, utilities, or keeping food on the table, it takes a significant toll on their mental and emotional health. We understand that stability is foundational, and by providing essential resources, we're helping to ease anxieties and pave a path to greater well-being.

If you know someone who is struggling with their mental health, contact Mental Health America of Central Carolinas, (704) 365-3454.
