As non-traditional students growing up, Scott and his brother understood that everyone is unique. Scott has carried that through his life and into his career as a teacher. He has a real passion for his students and is confident that he just has to find the right book to spark their interest in reading.
“Teaching is an adventure every day.”
~Scott
Scott’s teaching is also enhanced by the lessons taught to him by his mother and father. He understands that everyone has a story and deserves empathy and respect. When he first walked through the doors of Crisis Assistance Ministry several years ago, that’s exactly what he found.
Despite working a couple of jobs and doing his best to stay on top of bills, Scott found himself behind on rent. Instead of falling further behind, he made the decision to ask for help. Thanks to donors like you, a payment made directly to his landlord plus a $50 grocery card and other assistance got him back on track. Now stably housed, Scott is doing his part to pay it forward at school and in his community.
You can make a difference in the lives of hardworking Charlotteans facing unprecedented financial crisis by making a donation today. You will be helping neighbors prevent homelessness, rebuild their lives, and get on a path to greater financial security. Thank you for showing them empathy in difficult times.
