Two remarkable women recently sat down together to share what your gifts to Crisis Assistance Ministry have meant to them.
Shanta is a former customer and now a Customer Advocate. She is the proud mother of three and has been a school bus driver for over 20 years for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
Mary is also a former customer turned Customer Advocate and a mom of four amazing kids as well as a dog and three cats.
Both of these ladies came to Crisis Assistance Ministry needing rent assistance. Thanks to donors like you, they received not only financial help but also a deep sense of relief. Sometimes just a little bit of help is all that’s needed for someone to get moving in the right direction again.
After moving past their initial crisis, some customers can go through extended one-on-one coaching and counseling to plan for their family’s future financial success.
A select group of customers, including Mary and Shanta, go on to the Civic Engagement program to educate and empower the community as advocates for people facing poverty.
Your donations make it possible for our hardworking neighbors to enjoy a stable home while taking action toward financial freedom and self-sufficiency.
To Shanta and Mary, home means peace and a safe place where you are protected from harm and negativity.
Imagine not having a safe place to lay your head down at night, or electricity to power the lights and charge your phone. Sadly, thousands of families across Charlotte-Mecklenburg are facing the threat of eviction or utility disconnection. Your support provides help to neighbors in need and creates hope for a better future.
This holiday season, you can provide the most vital of gifts – the gift of home. Your support provides help to neighbors in need and creates hope for a better future.
