Elevation Church Puts Love Into Action

August 15, 2025

Serve one another. Love one another. It’s a simple yet powerful call to action, and it’s exactly what we saw firsthand during Elevation Church’s annual LOVE Week. Each year, we’re humbled and grateful to be one of the organizations they partner with to make a tangible impact in our community.

You could feel the energy as different groups from Elevation Church dedicated their time and enthusiasm to serving our neighbors. They didn’t just show up; they dove in with open hearts, eager to lend a hand wherever it was needed.

In the Free Store, volunteers helped neighbors shop for crucial items, ensuring everyone felt seen and valued. They also rolled up their sleeves in the warehouse, meticulously inspecting and organizing clothing donations. This vital work is a huge part of the 1.6 million items of clothing and household goods distributed annually, valued at more than $6.3 million.

Elevation Outreach Assembling Snacks for Neighbors in Need

Another highlight was the creation of care packages for our Snack Ministry. Volunteers packed bags with snacks and words of encouragement, providing a simple comfort that makes a big difference to families facing hardship.

At Crisis Assistance Ministry, we know that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has a ripple effect. This is the heart of LOVE Week—it’s more than just meeting needs; it’s about showing people they are not forgotten. The dedication and passion of the Elevation Church volunteers brought this message to life, and our neighbors felt it.

The volunteers helped serve a community where 41% of those benefiting from services are children. Their families are often forced to make impossible choices, with 64% of their income obligated to rent and utilities. This is why the hands-on help from volunteers like these teams from Elevation Church is so critical. Their volunteer hours are a significant gift to our community, and we are so thankful that they’ve chosen to help our neighbors avoid eviction or loss of utilities, live with dignity, and pursue financial stability.

Thanks, Elevation, for your longstanding commitment to stabilizing homes in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Everyone could truly feel the LOVE!

Some families are forced to turn down raises or reduce hours — not because they lack ambition, but because the numbers don’t work.🤔 #FamilyFinance #EconomicReality #BenefitsCliff

Every day, 75 families shop at no cost for clothing and household goods at our free store. While many of us think nothing of a shopping trip for new clothes, for our neighbors with limited incomes, shopping at no cost turns what could be a financial burden into a fresh start!

Flat tire? Trip to urgent care? Things happen. For many of our neighbors however, when that thing happens, something in their budget has to give. That's where Crisis Assistance Ministry gives hope. We provide emergency financial assistance for rent and utility costs when a family faces financial crisis.
