When we first told Julia’s story, almost a decade ago now, she was emerging from life-altering tragedy and grateful to have found help and hope at Crisis Assistance Ministry. With your support, her utilities were restored, she was connected to one-on-one coaching for longer term housing stability, and later found her voice as a Customer Advocate.
Caring neighbors like you made all that possible.
Since then, she has mentored other customer advocates, shared her story with Poverty Simulation participants, and served on nonprofit boards to provide lived experience. She found employment, got a promotion, and has maintained lasting housing stability.
Last month, Julia’s story came full circle as she stepped to the front of the room to lead a blended Poverty Awareness session on her own.
Looking back, she is filled with gratitude. That gratitude propels her to keep moving, to advocate for herself and those still struggling to make ends meet, and to give back in meaningful ways.
With your help, Julia has found her way through the tragedy to stable ground. You can help thousands of other neighbors find housing stability with a gift this season.
