Statistically, 48% of Mecklenburg County residents are housing burdened, which is defined as having more than 30% of their income committed to housing costs. Charlotte-Mecklenburg has a housing crisis. Many find themselves with a financial gap that creates housing instability for themselves and their fmailies.
