Every year, we collect thousands of coats for distribution through our Free Store and Partner Agency Network. Temperatures have dropped while there are still thousands without power and/or water in about ¼ of our state. We can help keep people warm by sharing the cold weather gear—hats, gloves, coats, blankets—so generously donated by our community.
Steve’s Coats for Kids welcomes new or gently used coats of all sizes, from children’s sizes up to adult sizes, and the coats that are collected in Charlotte-Mecklenburg will be added to the Crisis Assistance Ministry Free Store or distributed to our countywide Partner Agencies to provide to their clients.
When little Myla wasn’t even a year old, she learned about the warmth of community — thanks to life-changing assistance just when it was needed most.
As temperatures begin to drop, the approaching winter adds renewed urgency for families who are struggling to make ends meet in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. You can help by donating new and gently used coats and winter gear.
