Summer Adventures Made Possible By You

Antonio and Angel were among 50+ local youngsters who headed off to traditional summer camp or college exploration camp this summer with the help of the community.  Wayfinders, a local nonprofit organization, funds summer activities for these students and matches them with year-round mentors from fourth grade through high school graduation. On their journey, they carried an array of clothing, toiletries, blankets, and other essentials found during a special shopping day at Crisis Assistance Ministry’s Free Store.

You Bridged the Gap for Mariagrazia and Her Family

That’s how she managed to stretch things through the worst of the COVID impacts last year. But when an injury put her out of work again she needed help to avoid eviction.

Friends Find Each Other, and a Home, with Your Help

Between the two of them, Michael and Ronnie have survived two heart attacks, a near fatal infection, P.T.S.D., and a stroke. After all that, the two friends who met at the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte are ready to settle into “everyday life,” as Ronnie puts it, after working together for over a year to meet goals and achieve housing.

Some families are forced to turn down raises or reduce hours — not because they lack ambition, but because the numbers don’t work.🤔 #FamilyFinance #EconomicReality #BenefitsCliff

Every day, 75 families shop at no cost for clothing and household goods at our free store. While many of us think nothing of a shopping trip for new clothes, for our neighbors with limited incomes, shopping at no cost turns what could be a financial burden into a fresh start!

Flat tire? Trip to urgent care? Things happen. For many of our neighbors however, when that thing happens, something in their budget has to give. That's where Crisis Assistance Ministry gives hope. We provide emergency financial assistance for rent and utility costs when a family faces financial crisis.
