Urgent Volunteer Needs
Donation Door Attendant
Location: 500A Spratt Street Hours commitment: 2 hour to 4 hour shifts
Times/shifts available: Tuesday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Greet and thank donors
- Assist donors in unloading clothing and household goods from vehicle
- Provide receipts and agency information to donors
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service
Location: 333 Dalton Avenue Hours commitment: 3 hours per move (can be a single time or recurrent)
Times/shifts available: Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning and afternoon
- Load and unload furniture and household goods for families leaving homelessness
- Transport furniture and household goods to new home of family
- Lifting, climbing stairs, moderate to heavy physical exertion is required

Furniture Warehouse Attendant
Location: 333 Dalton Avenue Hours per week: 4 to 40
Times/shifts available: varied 4 hour blocks, Tuesday - Saturday morning or afternoon
Greet customers, answer questions, provide instruction
Assist families in locating and selecting furniture within the warehouse
Ensure accurate data collection from families receiving assistance
Work closely with staff to provide exemplary customer service
Particularly in need of volunteers who can cover afternoon or weekend shifts and/or are bilingual in English & Spanish.

Furniture Pickup (Bulk Institutions)
Strong, willing volunteers (individuals or groups) are frequently needed to assist with bulk mattress and furniture pick up at Charlotte hotels, colleges, and other institutions.
