This International Day of Charity is the perfect time to highlight the incredible power of giving back and the positive impact volunteers make on our community. So many volunteers came together this summer to make essentials available to families struggling with housing instability.
For 42 years, the Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk has invited the community to walk together against hunger—locally and globally. This year’s (virtual) walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 11th, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. in a neighborhood or park near you.
Join us on Sunday, October 20 at 1:30 pm at Independence Park for the CROP Hunger Walk. Your support will raise awareness about the families in our community struggling with food insecurity.
Of the more than 1 million items that pass through the Free Store each year, a good number are new items donated by Walmart, thanks to a longstanding partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. Recently, Walmart made a generous $20,000 donation to Crisis Assistance Ministry to support families struggling to meet life’s basic needs.
