@nucorcorporation is North America’s largest steel producer and the continent’s largest scrap-metal recycler.

Volunteers from the Legal Department packed hearty lunch bags and helped serve 200 dignified meals to our neighbors: sandwiches, fruit, chips or crackers, and water.

They loved the experience and are already thinking about returning for holiday volunteer opportunities. Thank you, Nucor!

Crisis Assistance Ministry is proud to be the 2026 beneficiary of the @canopyhousingfoundation's Strides for Shelter 5K. Proceeds from this year’s event will fund a refresh of our Free Store, creating an upgraded space that will help individuals and local families lower their everyday expenses, stay in their homes, and rebuild their lives.

Join us on Sat., Oct. 17, at McAlpine Creek Park. Register to run or walk, donate or support a participating team. Learn more at the link in Bio.

The copy machine never stood a chance. 🦖 Donate at the link in our bio. Come back next week for another movie premiere.

In our latest intentionally bad movie trailer, a dinosaur arrives ready to help but first it must survive the Customer Service area, the copy machine, and an awkward break-room lunch.

The reviews may be brutal, but the mission behind this film is serious.

Crisis Assistance Ministry’s Non Event campaign invites supporters to skip a traditional event and make a direct investment in Mecklenburg County families facing financial crisis. A gift can help families build financial stability, keep essential utilities on, and remain safely housed.

Thank you to the CFGI team for bringing their time, talent, and energy to Crisis Assistance Ministry. Their volunteer shift was a meaningful investment in Mecklenburg County neighbors facing financial crisis, and the return is a stronger, more supported community.

We are grateful to Board Member Jay Herring for helping make the connection and to Chief Advancement Officer Shelly Biby for welcoming the team. Safe to say: the day’s balance sheet was full of service, connection, and new friends. (Accounting pun 😉)

We hope to see you back soon, CFGI! 🙌

Something is lurking beneath the waves… 🦈

It’s fast. It’s fearsome. It’s … a flip-flop with a paper shark head.

Introducing SHOERKS — the latest “film” from Crisis Assistance Ministry’s very questionable directing team. 🎬

Our movie-making skills may deserve zero stars, but helping Mecklenburg County families build financial stability is the real story. This Non Event season, skip the premiere and help us keep neighbors stably housed and essential utilities connected.

Stay tuned for two more critically questionable films: an alien encounter and a dinosaur chase through the office. Once all three have premiered, we’ll ask you to vote for your favorite or at least the one you dislike the least. 👀

#SkipTheEvent. Support Mecklenburg families from home. Make your gift through the link in our bio.

🎬 NOW SHOWING: Crisis Assistance Ministry’s Non Event 2026

We took a shot at becoming movie makers … and the critics were not impressed.

“Stick to housing stability and leave filmmaking alone.”
— Mushy Veggies

Honestly? They may be onto something.

Our movie-making skills may earn zero stars, but helping Mecklenburg County families build financial stability is what we do best.

This year, we invite you to skip the red carpet, cancel the limo, and ignore our “please-miss” event—then make a gift from home instead.

Your support can help:
⭐ Keep a mom’s air conditioning on
⭐ Keep the lights shining in a neighbor’s home
⭐ Help a family remain stably housed

Watch our very dramatic, very disappointing “premiere.” Then help us keep doing the work that truly deserves a standing ovation.

#skipthepremiere support Mecklenburg families from home. Make your gift through the link in our bio.
